TELL US HOW YOU GOT STARTED
I have been doing crafts for over 17 years. During those years I have sold my Americana and folk crafts in stores and in craft shows. My friends would tell me that I should have my own shows and I began having my own shows and home parties during the years. I always loved to draw and would design my own items for my home and began designing Primitive Stitchery Patterns, which is a labor from the heart!
HOW MANY YEARS HAVE YOU BEEN IN BUSINESS?
I have been in business selling crafts for over 17 years. I have been selling on ebay for over 4 years and was very interested in setting up my own website and thanks to a dear friend found the information I needed and My website JoAnn's Country Corner where I sell Primitive Stitchery Patterns was opened and has been in business for 2 years.
HOW MANY HOURS A DAY DO YOU DEVOTE TO CRAFTING?
I put in many hours a day devoted to designing Primitive Stitchery Patterns. My mind is always thinking of creating new designs for patterns. That is were the love and the fun of designing comes in. You do have to work on programs to get your patterns ready to be entered onto your website and that takes time. I enter new patterns at least once a week if not more. It is a labor of love and fun!
WHAT AVENUES DO YOU USE TO MARKET YOUR PRODUCTS?
I have my Website that I work on daily looking for different avenues of advertising to get my products noticed, you will also find my website mentioned on my About Me page located on Ebay and business cards.
WHAT GETS YOU MOTIVATED?
My customers get me motivated. I have the best customers! It is creating a pattern and putting it down on paper and then onto the computer. When you see it, you just love it and it just brings a smile to your face!! It all comes down to loving what you do!
WHERE DOES YOUR CREATIVITY COME FROM?
I have been creating items since I was a child. My mother used to make candles and she knitted. My grandmother was creative and made items for her home. I used to sew my own clothes when I was a young girl and knitted Bobbi Doll clothes. My grandmother made a fantastic apple pie, my sister learned that!
WHAT ITEMS ARE YOUR BEST SELLERS?
My best sellers at the moment are my Primitive Stitchery Patterns! I love drawing them and I hope customers will love purchasing them!
